Parish Council Information

Badger Parish Council meets every two months throughout the year (see full calendar below). Meetings are normally held in St. Giles’ Church, Badger.  Please note that meeting dates can change and the Council will endeavour to ensure that the calendar is updated once a change is known.

The first item on a meeting agenda is always “Open Forum” which is an opportunity for parishioners to raise any local issues of interest or concern. After Open Forum parishioners are most welcome to stay, listen and observe the rest of the meeting which is in formal session, although unable to take part in discussion unless exceptionally for special reason Council invites a member of the public to speak.

IMPORTANT: Please address any enquiries or questions to the Clerk in the first instance.

Parish Councillor Opportunity

There is a new parish council in place for the next four years: Lorraine Wilson (re-elected as Chair), Andy Locke (Vice-Chair), and Councillors Steve England and Chris Johnson.

As we did not get enough nominations to fill all the allocated seats, we have a casual vacancy and we are now seeking interest
from those who would like to be co-opted as a councillor on the Badger Parish Council.

The main purpose of a parish council is to make local decisions and policy relevant to the best interests of the parish. More information about the duties of a councillor can be found on www.alcshropshire.co.uk.

If you would like to stand for co-option you must meet these criteria:

    • be at least 18 years old and
    • a British or a citizen of the Commonwealth. (Some EU citizens may be able to stand, depending on reciprocal arrangements with their particular EU nation.)
    • be registered in this constituency to vote in elections or
    • have lived, worked, or owned property in the parish (or within 3 miles of the parish) for at least the whole 12 months before an election.

If you are interested in being co-opted to serve on the Parish Council, please notify the Parish Clerk (Georgina Porter) with your name and address, email and contact details by 11 July.

Applications will be considered by the Parish Council prior to the next meeting on 17 July.

NB Parishioners can request another election process – 10 or more electors should write to the Parish Clerk at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. requesting a bi- election, by 30 June 2025.
